Press coverage about Apparatjik's debut album began today with the following two posts:

Coldplaying.com Apparatjik debut album to be released on 1st February

Quote:
Apparatjik's as-yet-untitled debut album will be released on the same day as their first ever live performance, 1st February 2010, says the wesbite of producer Martin Terife. According to his official site, martinterefe.com, the latest information is:

"Martin will be in Berlin next week for the international debut of his band Apparatjik. Apparatjik is a music and art project fusing scientific interest and artistic effort and consists of Guy Berryman, Jonas Bjerre, Magne F and Martin. Their debut album is released on the same day as their first show. 01022010. If you want to find out more about it check out: apparatjik.com

[...]

More discussion on this debut performance is currently underway at the World Of Music forum here onwards [thanks DISK_CTM]

And tonight from twentyfourbit.com:

Quote:
We finally have an explanation for at least one piece of WTFery (the cube) on Apparatjik’s official site, but I’ll leave the music chord equations, Vimeos, and photos to die-hard fans/cryptologists of the Coldplay/Mew/A-Ha side project. Bassist Guy Berryman, Mew’s Jonas Bjerre, Martin Terefe, and A-Ha’s Magne Furuholmen are planning to follow up their free, 9-minute single, “Electric Eye,” with the release of their as-yet-untitled debut album and an unusual live performance in a glass cube.

[...]

Okay, somebody please YouTube this thing.

Let the media frenzy begin!

From Norway:

Radio 3 Norge writes
Quote:

Translated it means:

The multinational supergroup Apparatjik release their first ever album on Monday. In addition, the band will be performing their first ever gig during the german festival Club Transmediale (CTM) in a specially designed cube the same day. The band-project was originally started by the BBC to make a theme for the Amazon-series which was to be aired on BBC2, but the cooperation worked so well, they've now recorded enough songs to make an entire album. Apparatjik consists of bassist Guy Berryman from Coldplay, Jonas Bjerre from Mew on guitar and vocals, Magne Furuholmen form A-ha on guitarand keyboard, and Martin Terefe as producer.
